Phone systems - reliable and expandable

Phones are still the number one way we stay in touch with our current clients and contact those potential customers. If you use more than one phone line and have more than one phone, then a phone system may be what you need. If not, we can still help resolve most everyday phone related problems.

Riverview can troubleshoot most phone problems, track and move existing phone lines, and provide additional phone drops for less cost, than the local phone company. And if necessary, we can help with initiating work or resolving problems with the phone company for you.

If you are looking to replace a phone system or implementing your first one, Riverview offers two types, a traditional Norstar PBX system and a flexible Asterisk system. Both can take care of voicemail, employee extensions, call forwarding, etc..., both systems are expandable and are extremely reliable, but that is where the similarity ends.

Norstar Phone systems...

If you are looking for a more traditional PBX system, then Norstar is an extremely reliable system. Depending upon the quantity of phones and lines, there is a system that fits any need. Norstar digital phones are designed to be functional, durable, and easily customizable and all functions of a Norstar system can be accessed through each phone. Some of the features available are individual mailboxes for each user, as well as Automated-Attendant and Custom Call Routing.

Asterisk systems...
This system is a provided in a custom computer. It is an 'Open Source project', which means there are no software or licensing costs. It can be integrated with your existing phone system or used with 'soft phones'. Asterisk is data based technology, utilizing internal data lines or traveling over the Internet.

Asterisk is an extremely flexible and scalable system. A relatively small server can handle anything between 1 and over a 100 users. The cost of adding a new user is minimal and can be done quickly. Asterisk offers standard features that usually result in an additional charge through a traditional phone system. (e.g. voice mail, music on hold, call parking, call waiting, 3-way transfer, call forwarding, Caller-ID, auto-attendant and lots more)

The major difference between the Norstar system and Asterisk is, Asterisk is also capable of VoIP service. So you can switch from using it as a traditional phone system to making calls over the Internet and saving in Long Distance. And if your organization has multiple locations, an Asterisk server would be able to link them all together, also cutting long distance correspondence.
